ABOUT THE ARTIST

Noemi Concepcion was born in Manila, Philippines. Coming from a family of business people, she took up Accounting and Finance, and obtained her MBA. She was also involved in her parish activities which made her decide to take courses in theology, leading to a Master in Pastoral Ministry. Little did she know that she would become an artist someday.

Noemi and her husband Jorge, together with four children immigrated to the U.S., settling in Los Angeles in 2006. Art would remain in the backseat, as a hobby. However, in her travel to the Mediterranean in 2012, God’s creation of the amazing lands, seas and sky truly inspired her to take up the brush again, and seriously paint.

Landscape, still life and figure painting are Noemi's passion. Still with strong ties in Manila, when she is there, she attends the atelier, L’arc en Ciel as one of its pioneer students in 2003. She has opportunities to paint with the school’s Master artist, Mia Herbosa.  In the U.S., she attends workshops with different Art professors such as Masters Cheryl Kline, Thomas Garner and Scott Yeskel at Kline Academy of Fine Art in Los Angeles, and Masters Robert Johnson and  Michael Steirnagle at Scottsdale Artists' School. She also attends art classes at her local college, Mt. San Antonio College.

With inspiration from her theological studies, she is influenced by renaissance religious arts in her paintings. She especially likes to paint the serene and beguiling faces of the Madonna and Child. She also likes to portray spirituality in her paintings that people may be moved, inspired and blessed.
